Houston-based Salata Salad Kitchen announced on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, it is opening its first location in Forsyth County at Halcyon.

With the opening of Halcyon just around the corner, a restaurant announced it would be coming to the mixed-use development early next year.

According to company officials, Salata Salad Kitchen is slated to open in early 2020, offering a “fresh take on the traditional salad bar.” The Halcyon location will be 2,800 square feet with 55 seats and will be the 10th location in metro Atlanta.

“With the development’s high walkability and connection to the Big Creek Greenway, Halcyon is thoughtfully designed to celebrate an active lifestyle and personal wellbeing. Salata’s focus on providing healthy, quick options that can be enjoyed in a modern, convenient setting complements our vision for the community,” said Phil Mays, Principal at RocaPoint Partners, in a news release. “We’re thrilled to welcome the first Salata location to Forsyth County.”

Founded in Houston in 2005, Salata’s first Georgia location opened in 2017. By 2022, the company plans to have 20 stores in the metro area.

Once completed, Halcyon will include 480,000 square feet of office and retail space, a trailhead for the Big Creek Greenway, about 230 homes, open space, 460 apartments, two hotels, a parking deck, a movie theater, office space, a dog park and other retail.

“We identify strongly with Halcyon’s efforts to advance health and wellness and are confident Salata will be a positive addition to that initiative,” said Jeff Hunter, vice president of operations at Henry Investment Group which operates Salata in the Atlanta market, in the release.

“As we continue to break down the barriers to fresh, nutrient-filled food, it’s important to seek out spaces that are driven by a desire to build a connection. With our shared interest in community investment, Halcyon is an ideal home for Salata to amplify our goal of providing welcoming atmospheres for eating well.”

Eight businesses at Halcyon – a mix of retail and restaurants – are set to open starting Wednesday, Sept. 18. No date for the opening of other stores in the development has been set.

Per the release, CMX Cinébistro will also open on Friday, Sept. 27.
