SOUTH FORSYTH — Another local restaurant is pitching in to help a Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputy who was wounded during the June 6 attack on the courthouse.

Mellow Mushroom in The Collection outdoor shopping mall on Peachtree Parkway will donate 10 percent of its proceeds all day Monday to Daniel Rush.

Rush was shot in the leg during a gunfight outside the courthouse with Dennis Ronald Marx, who was later shot and killed by deputies.

Rush is credited with preventing Marx from entering the courthouse and possibly killing many people inside. He has undergone surgeries to his leg as a result of being shot.

Several local eateries — including Zaxby’s, CiCi’s Pizza and Chick-fil-A — have held fundraisers to help Rush with uncovered medical and living expenses.

Beef O’Brady’s on Freedom Parkway will donate a portion of its proceeds to Rush from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday.
