Kids still looking for that perfect gift for dad?

The Cumming-Forsyth County Farmers Market may have a solution.

From 7:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday, the market will hold its first kids’ workshop.

Market manager Hank Gravitt said Lowe’s will provide several craft projects for children to complete for Father’s Day.

Gravitt said he’s excited to offer the event, which will also feature several other market business sponsors such as Andean Chevrolet and Terry’s Tools.

“We’ve never had people come to the market before, period, besides the vendors to sell stuff, so this is going to be a workshop and we’ll try to have another one this fall,” he said.

“There will also be some different things like art vendors and then some breadmakers and pastrymakers, along with our normal vegetable people.”

The market opened for the season June 2 and will run Wednesdays and Saturdays through September.

It’s open from 6:30 a.m. until vendors sell out in the parking lot of the Cumming Fairgrounds on Castleberry Road.

Gravitt said he hopes families will come out to the kids’ workshop.

“It’s something to do and it’s free, and it’s geared toward Father’s Day,” he said.
