The Forsyth Network for Business Professionals is closing in on its fourth anniversary.

President Fred Burak said the 15-member group is looking to increase its membership in order to expand business possibilities through referrals.

“Probably about 10 percent of my overall referrals come from this group,” he said. “It’s open for anyone to join.”

There is one condition to membership, Burak explained.

The organization has a “protected occupational classification,” meaning basically that if the group already has a painter, they won’t accept any more painters. Membership is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

That way, Burak said, there “won’t be people competing within our group.”

For interested businesses, the first two meetings are free. After that, membership includes a one-time $50 initiation fee and monthly dues of $10.

The group meets from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Thursday at Bello’s Italian restaurant, 101 Meadow Drive in Cumming.
