Nominations sought for top philanthropist

GAINESVILLE — The deadline to nominate a philanthropist for the North Georgia Community Foundation 2014 Philanthropist of the Year award is Aug. 15.

The award recognizes an individual or family for life-long achievements that have made a significant impact in the region. 

To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must live in the foundation’s service area that includes Forsyth, Dawson, Hall and 12 other counties.

Nominees should be persons with a proven record of exceptional generosity who demonstrate outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles.

The award winner will be recognized during the foundation’s 10th annual Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Nov. 20 at Gainesville First Baptist Church Banquet Hall.
