Several members of the 400 North Board of Realtors were among hundreds of real estate professionals who participated in the Georgia Realtors Rally for Homeownership.

During the event, held Jan. 29 on the front steps of the Georgia Capitol, Gov. Nathan Deal expressed his appreciation for Realtors and their dedication to preserving home ownership in the state, despite the challenges of the recent economy.

Other elected officials also addressed the crowd and Georgia Realtors President Robin Lance of Savannah said solving the state’s housing crisis is a nonpartisan effort.

Terry Swanson, president of the local realty board, which includes Forsyth, Dawson and Lumpkin counties, called the event “inspiring.”

“We had a larger crowd than we originally expected and the energy was amazing,” he said in a statement.

“It was inspiring to be a part of an event that promotes an issue that is so vital to the economy at every level.”
