Car crashes into Dahlonega Moe’s restaurant after nine-car wreck

One vehicle crashed into a Moe’s Southwest Grill after a wreck Monday afternoon involving six other cars on Morrison Moore Parkway in Dahlonega, according to authorities.

Nine vehicles were involved and five people were seriously injured in a wreck at the intersection of Morrison Moore Parkway and Alicia Lane in Dahlonega on Monday.

A work truck crashed into Moe’s Southwest Grill following the wreck, according to officials. The wreck temporarily shut down South Chestatee Street to Alicia Lane.

According to Georgia State Patrol, Steve Russell Moss, 28 of Woodstock was placed under arrest for DUI drugs and reckless driving.

According to the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, those injured were transported to local area hospitals, and multiple people with injuries continued to be checked out by area hospitals throughout the evening.

“Thank you to the local and state agencies for your efforts during this unfortunate accident,” said Sheriff Stacy Jarrard. “Also, thank you to the many citizen volunteers that assisted in yesterday’s accident.”

The case is currently being investigated by Georgia State Patrol.
