A South Carolina man remained hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday, a day after a single-vehicle wreck in southwestern Forsyth, authorities said.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred about 7 a.m. on Union Hill Road near the entrance to Shepherds Pond.

Sheriff’s reports said Sammy Abraham, 57, of Florence, S.C., was traveling north on Union Hill when the 2010 Toyota Corolla he was driving left the road and struck a tree. It then spun and overturned.

After being freed from the wreckage, Abraham was taken to North Fulton Hospital, the reports said.
