Forsyth County will go on a long ride Saturday when it hosts the Forsyth Metric Century bike ride as a benefit for a nonprofit that supports cancer patients.

The ride, which will begin at 7 a.m. out of Sawnee Mountain Park at 3995 Watson Road, offers 15-, 31- and 62-miles routes, all of which are fully supported with rest stops and will have law enforcement and other safety personnel present.

Ride entry fee is $40 to register at the event, which opens at 6:15 a.m.

Kind Bikes is organizing the event as a fundraiser for Team Maggie, which is “dedicated to keeping the ‘dream of family alive’” for teens and adults affected by cancer.

All riders must wear a helmet at all times.

Bib pickup is available on-site the morning of the ride starting at 6:30 a.m.

The event is rain or shine, but Kind Bikes may postpone or cancel it in the case of dangerous weather.
