A U.S. Constitution seminar will be offered Saturday in Forsyth County.

“The Making of America” will be presented by Earl Taylor, president of the National Center for Constitutional Studies.

Taylor travels nationally to teach the class, which includes two parts: “Developing America’s Great Success” and “The Perfect Plan of Liberty.”

The Forsyth County Tea Party Patriots Alliance decided to bring the seminar into town as an opportunity for the community, member Bob Frey said.

Frey attended the seminar in Washington, D.C., and said attendees remarked that they learned a lot.

“It was just understanding what the Constitution is and what it’s doing and that it is not a defective document,” he said. “Every severe problem that we’ve had has always been solved by the interpretation of the Constitution.”

The full-day seminar costs $15, which includes all materials and lunch.

Frey said the session is informational and not political, which fits with the local tea party’s mission to educate.

“What this seminar does is it takes it from the creation of the Constitution,” he said.

Frey said Taylor will also discuss how the Bible and 10 Commandments played a role in crafting the founding document.

He recommended the seminar for ages 16 and up.
