NORTH FORSYTH — A two-vehicle crash blocked a busy intersection in north Forsyth Thursday night and resulted in one driver being taken to the hospital.

The 21-year-old woman apparently was drifting in and out of consciousness when emergency personnel arrived at Ga. 400 and Hwy. 369 (Browns Bridge Road) about 10 p.m., though her injuries were described as non-life threatening.

According to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was driving a Hyundai Tiburon west on Hwy. 369.

As she was passing through the crossing, a northbound Chevrolet driven by a 56-year-old woman reportedly ran the red light and crashed into the Hyundai.

The Chevrolet driver was not taken to a hospital.

Rodriguez said Ga. 400 north was shut down for about 35 minutes while deputies redirected traffic and the scene was cleared.
