Crash in north Forsyth injures Cumming woman
emergency

NORTH FORSYTH — A two-vehicle crash Friday sent a woman from Cumming to the hospital as rush-hour traffic began to thin in north Forsyth.

A 2013 GMC Acadia sports utility vehicle driven by a 28-year-old woman from Chunchula, Ala., was traveling west on Hwy. 306 (Keith Bridge Road) about 6:30 p.m. when it struck a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier as it attempted to turn left onto Jot Em Down Road, according to Robin Stone, a spokeswoman for Georgia State Patrol.

The woman told troopers she had a green light and never saw the other vehicle prior to impact.

According to the state patrol, witnesses at the scene said both cars had the green light and that the GMC failed to yield because she did not have a green arrow.

The woman was cited for failure to yield while turning left.

She and her passengers, two boys ages 1 and 3, sustained non-fatal injuries. All three occupants were properly restrained, Stone said.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected as factors in the crash.

The driver of the Cavalier, a 58-year-old woman from Cumming, was also wearing a seatbelt.

As of Tuesday morning, she remained in the hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
