Three teenagers were arrested on drug and alcohol charges early Tuesday after authorities busted a party in a south Forsyth neighborhood.

The teens — a 17-year-old girl and two boys, ages 17 and 18 — face charges including marijuana possession, underage consumption of alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The arrests came after sheriff’s deputies received a couple different reports of a party in the Polo subdivision.

Investigation of a festive gathering at the neighborhood pool led authorities to a home on Lancaster Circle.

According to a sheriff’s report, authorities “observed several people running back into the residence once they saw the deputies approaching.”

The homeowner let the deputies in the house, where they found several juveniles and adults hiding in the basement.

One of the suspects told deputies he had taken the alcohol from open garages in Polo and Dressage subdivisions.

Additional burglary charges could be forthcoming.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Capt. Frank Huggins said the bust is an example of how seriously authorities take underage drinking.

“When it comes to underage alcohol consumption, the tolerance level is zero,” he said.
