A Gainesville man faces seven counts of aggravated assault after allegedly hitting a person with a car and firing a gun, according to authorities.

Saul Garcia, 29, was booked Sunday in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said Garcia struck a person with his car near the 2800 block of Old Flowery Branch Road.

“That individual was holding a baby at the time of the assault,” Ware wrote in a news release. “The victim and the baby are fine.”

Garcia is also accused of firing a gun from his car “at another individual who was standing in a group of people,” Ware said.

No one was hit by the bullet, the lieutenant said.

Investigators and deputies arrested Garcia at a residence in the 2900 block of Mustang Drive in East Hall.

Garcia was additionally charged with reckless conduct.
