Local authorities mobilized a heavy presence into the south Forsyth area on Thursday afternoon, as they searched for the subject of a police chase who allegedly ran from a Georgia State Patrol traffic stop.

Georgia State Patrol and Forsyth County deputies conducting a search in the area of Ga. 400 and Majors Road with a GSP helicopter and local K9 units, according to Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Deputy Wendell DeJoie. But as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, that search has been terminated.

It is not known why the suspect ran or what initiated the traffic stop, DeJoie said. The suspect's vehicle was discovered shortly after the chase in a neighborhood off Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The suspect is wanted for a probation violation in Forsyth County, Dejoie said.

The suspect is described as a 19-year-old white male, with brown hair and is aproximately 5-foot-9-inches tall, according to Dejoie.
