CUMMING — Authorities are searching for an alleged peeping Tom who reportedly looked under the door of a women’s dressing room at a Cumming department store.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office described the man as in his mid- to late-30s, at least 6 feet tall, with short brown hair and weighing about 200 pounds.

Security camera footage showed the suspect wearing jeans, flip-flops and a dark hooded sweatshirt with a blue bandana. He had a silver bracelet on his left wrist.

The incident reportedly occurred about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Belk in Lakeland Plaza and involved just one woman, according to Karleen Chalker with the sheriff’s office.

She added that the man ran out of the store when confronted about the incident, however there was no description of a getaway vehicle.

“It seems to be an isolated incident at this point in time,” Chalker said. “We don’t have any incidents of any other peeping Toms in any other department stores in the county.”

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Sheriff’s Detective Tyler Sexton at (770) 886-2800, Ext. 3323.
