Authorities seek south Forsyth tanning salon groper

SOUTH FORSYTH — Local law enforcement is seeking help in identifying a man who is suspected of groping a woman in a tanning parlor in south Forsyth.

The suspect reportedly entered the store about 5 p.m. Monday and asked the woman at the front desk about information regarding a subscription for his wife, according to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman began showing him around. He then reportedly groped her when they were in one of the rooms. When she began to defend herself, he ran off.

Rodriguez said this appears to be an isolated incident.

“We hardly get any stranger-on-stranger crimes in Forsyth County,” he said. “So we want to catch him before it happens again or escalates further.”

The suspect was described by officials as a white man between 25 and 30 years old with blond or strawberry blond hair and a small mustache.

He can be seen in a surveillance video from the store wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with a hood and can be heard talking.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office’s non-emergency number at (770) 781-3087 or send them a private message on Facebook.
