WOODSTOCK — Authorities say a woman has been stabbed to death by her son in Cherokee County.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jay Baker tells local media outlets that 21-year-old Michael Jacobs confessed to killing his mother on Sunday, near Woodstock.

Police say the stabbing occurred as a result of a domestic dispute. It is unclear what prompted the argument.

Jacobs is being charged with felony murder in the stabbing. He is being held without bond.

It is unclear whether Jacobs has an attorney to comment on the charge.
