Anyone with information about Tuesday’s home invasion can call Cumming police at (770) 781-2000.

Police say they have identified two of the three men suspected of robbing a home in north Cumming and pistol whipping the resident Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened between 3:30 and 4 p.m. at a house in the Adair Park subdivision off Sawnee Drive.

Cumming Police Sgt. Bryan Zimbardi declined to release any names or other specifics, saying only the department is “actively working the case pretty hard.”

“One of the neighbors saw the entire thing that happened outside the house, so he gave us good information,” Zimbardi said. “Eyewitnesses support that three black males came to a house … and entered the residence.”

Zimbardi said the suspects forced their way into the home, ransacked it, and took an undisclosed amount of cash, jewelry and electronic equipment.

The homeowner said one of the men held him at gunpoint with a semi-automatic pistol and then struck him it before leaving in a vehicle that had stopped to pick up the suspects.

“We believe we’ve made positive identifications on two of the suspects,” he said. “But the whole thing is still under active investigation.”
