Cumming Police search for Humane Society donation thief

Cumming police are asking for any information that could lead to the identification of this suspect, who was seen on video stealing a jar of donations at the Human Society Thrift Store of Forsyth County.

The Cumming Police Department is searching for a man that was caught on security camera stealing a jar of donations from the Humane Society Thrift Store of Forsyth County on Atlanta Road over the weekend .

According to a Cumming Police Department incident report, video evidence shows that at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, an “unknown white male” entered the thrift store and walked through the store for about 10 minutes, “pretending like he (was) shopping.”

“At 2:46 p.m., when the cashier walks away from the counter, the unknown white male grabs the store’s donation jar and walks out,” the report states. “He gets into his vehicle and drives off towards Atlanta Road.”

The report states that the suspect was last seen leaving the area in a four-door black sedan, possibly a Lexus, and was seen in a white Polo brand jacket. It also states that approximately $80 in cash donations was stolen by the suspect. 

“If the suspect is identified or located, he will be charged with misdemeanor theft by taking,” the report states.
