The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office collected about 154 pounds of unwanted prescription medications last month as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative.
Various drugs, including strong narcotics such as Fentanyl and Oxycodone, were dropped off April 30. All medicines collected were disposed of by incineration.
The sheriff’s office has conducted five take-back events. In the first initiative, 68 pounds of unwanted prescription medications were collected.
