Koby Blanchard, an inmate who walked away from a work detail at the Cumming Police Department's headquarters on Friday, is back in custody.

According to the sheriff's office, Blanchard turned himself in at the detention center in Cumming Sunday morning. Investigators who had been searching for Blanchard since he left the work detail said that the pressure of the ongoing investigation may have caused him to decide to return to custody on his own.

As part of the investigation, officals say Margaret Cheryl Broome was arrested and faces charges of aiding escape, hindering apprehension, and possession of controlled substances.

Officials say that Blanchard, who was already charged with burglary, arson and theft will face additional charges as a result of his actions, and that the investigation into how Blanchard escaped is still ongoing
