Authorities have arrested a 51-year-old former minister on four felony counts of child molestation.

Dexter Charles Gravitt, 4670 Oak Grove Circle in Cumming, was charged Tuesday with aggravated child molestation, child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Capt. Frank Huggins said Gravitt is in custody at the Forsyth County Detention Center. His bond has not been set.

Huggins said Gravitt was charged in connection with an incident involving a male child under age 10.

The child's identity is not being released, but Huggins said Gravitt knew the boy.

"This had been going on for some time, and when it came to light to the parents, they contacted us," Huggins said. "We move as fast as we can on cases like this."

Huggins said Gravitt at one time was a minister at Mayfield Baptist Church in northeastern Forsyth.

A man who answered a phone number listed for the church said Gravitt left in August and that he did not go to another church.
