Licensees at four Forsyth County businesses face administrative hearings after they were cited for selling alcohol to minors.

The citations were issued as part of a Forsyth County Sheriff's Office operation Feb. 6.

Fajitas Mexican Grill, El Porton Mexican Restaurant and Wal-Mart, all on Atlanta Highway, as well as Black Diamond Grill on Peachtree Parkway, each reportedly served an underage person without asking for proper proof of age.

While a deputy in plain clothes watched, an underage person attempted to buy alcohol at eight restaurants and three retail stores in the county.

The other seven businesses asked for proper identification.

The Forsyth County commission will review the licensee of each cited businesses. The employees who were cited must appear in Magistrate Court.

Sheriff Ted Paxton said in a statement the office takes “underage sales of alcohol very seriously.”

“Our undercover enforcement operations will continue on a regular basis in an effort to make sure that every business selling alcohol in Forsyth County complies with the law,” Paxton said.
