NORTH FORSYTH — Tim Meyer was recently promoted to sergeant first class and appointed commander of Georgia State Patrol Post 37 in north Forsyth.
The 10-person post is responsible for enforcement of traffic laws, crash investigations and assisting local law enforcement in Forsyth, Dawson and Lumpkin counties.
Meyer began his career with the Department of Public Safety in February 2000.
He has held positions at patrol posts in Gainesville, Madison and Athens, where he most recently served as assistant post commander.
“I want to continue what is working well to increase DUI enforcement and decrease the number of fatalities,” Meyer said. “I also want troopers to focus more on child and school safety.”
