The search for a 15-year-old girl and the man authorities say may have abducted her has entered its second week.

Cumming police have said Jocelyn Garcia was last seen Sept. 5 in the parking lot of Ross on Market Place Boulevard.

She was with 19-year-old Enrique Chavez, who also goes by the name Brandon Herrera Flores.

Garcia may have gone with Chavez willingly at first, but Cumming Police Det. Bryan Zimbardi said the circumstances have since changed.

“We think they’ve crossed state lines a couple of times and she is no longer a willing participant, that’s what we think right now,” Zimbardi said.

The department has released photos of Garcia and Chavez, along with an image of the truck they were in at the time.

Police have described it as a 2002 to 2005 GMC step side, extended cab, two-door pickup, custom painted from light gray to white to dark gray.

The truck also has custom chrome wheels and a temporary or “drive out” tag.

Police have taken out warrants, one of which is for interference with child custody, against Chavez.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is helping with the case.
