Hunt on for suspect in attempted robbery of southwest Forsyth bank

SOUTHWEST FORSYTH — Authorities are looking for a suspect who reportedly attempted to rob the United Community Bank in the Midway community of southwest Forsyth.

The man, described as wearing a brown hoodie and sunglasses, is driving an older model white Honda Accord. He was last seen in the area of Francis Circle and Hwy. 9.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the unsuccessful robbery attempt was made through the bank’s drive-thru.

Robin Regan, a spokesman for the agency, said no weapons were displayed during the incident.

There is a heavy law enforcement presence in the area as sheriff’s deputies search for the suspect.
