CUMMING -- A body found last week at an abandoned home in Oconee County, southeast of Athens, has been identified as that of a 41-year-old man from northeastern Forsyth County.

According to Sheriff Scott Berry, the family of Robby Oliver Barden in Palm Bay, Fla., was notified Thursday of his death.

Barden’s last known address was at 8460 Lake Hollow Drive, which is off Bethel Road near Lake Lanier.

His cause of death remains undetermined pending toxicology reports from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

The agency was also still waiting to learn the exact time of death and other details, but has said that foul play is not suspected.

Barden’s body, which authorities said was badly decomposed, was found Feb. 13 in an abandoned home off Hwy. 78.
