An 82-year-old man was injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving a Forsyth County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle.

John Howley Buice Jr., of Amanda Lane, was taken to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell in stable condition. Forsyth County Fire Capt. Jason Shivers said Buice suffered moderate injuries.

The wreck occurred about 2:30 p.m. on Peachtree Parkway in front of Pinecrest Academy.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim House said Buice was apparently heading west on Peachtree Parkway in a Buick LeSabre when, for reasons unknown, the LeSabre struck the back of a parked FCSO Chevrolet Tahoe.

House said Sheriff’s Lt. Jody Chapman, the driver of the Tahoe, was directing school traffic on Peachtree Parkway when the wreck occurred and was not injured.

The wreck is under investigation, House said.
