CUMMING — A Roswell man driving a racing go-kart on Castleberry Industrial Drive near the Cumming Fairgrounds died after it struck another vehicle head on about 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, 27-year-old John Cory Brown was traveling west on Casteberry Industrial Drive when the go-kart collided with the other vehicle, which was heading east.

The crash occurred as the go-kart was coming out of a sharp curve in the road.

Brown was taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. The crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

It was not immediately clear why the go-kart was on the road, though there is a quarter midget race track at the nearby fairgrounds.
