It appears a Cumming man will not face charges in connection with a collision that claimed the life of a teenager over the weekend in Gwinnett County.

According to a Gwinnett County police report, the incident occurred about 8:15 p.m. Friday on Brasleton Highway, just north of Jim Moore Road near Dacula.

The report said a 13-year-old stepped into the path of a southbound 2004 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 23-year-old Kevin Sanders.

The Auburn teen was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he later died of injuries suffered in the collision.

No one else was hurt in the incident.

While the investigation is ongoing, the sheriff's report said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
