FORSYTH COUNTY — A sweep this week by authorities found 16 people in violation of their probation terms.

As part of the effort, Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies and officers with the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Cumming Felony Probation Office visited the homes of probationers on Monday and Thursday nights.

On Monday, six registered sex offenders’ homes were checked. Three of them were taken into custody and additional warrants were taken on a fourth after violations were discovered.

On Thursday, 12 of the 25 people whom authorities checked up on were arrested, according to the sheriff’s office. Warrants were taken out for a 13th person.

In addition, they arrested one person who was not on probation.

According to the sheriff’s office, the violations discovered last week ranged from having various drugs and alcohol to possession of pornography by a registered sex offender.
