CUMMING – Atlanta Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a man suspected of shooting two people at a residence early Monday morning before fleeing the scene.

Ronald Lofland, 47, is wanted in connection with a 911 call that Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies responded to just after midnight on May 30 at a home on Darla Avenue, which connects 14th and 15th street off Tribble Gap Road.

According to Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, two victims, an adult male and female, were transported to an area hospital with apparent non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The male went through surgery a few hours after the incident, after which both were listed in stable condition.

Lofland reportedly fled the scene in a gold 2003 Jeep Liberty and is thought to be armed, Rodriguez said.

“We don’t believe he is a threat to the public, as of now,” Rodriguez said. “However, he did shoot two people, so if you come in contact with him do not approach him and call 911.”

The Jeep was located abandoned on the side of the road just after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Buford Highway (Hwy. 20) interchange on Interstate-985 in Gwinnett County, Rodriguez said.

The vehicle was towed back to Forsyth County for investigators to examine upon receiving a search warrant.

Investigators believe the incident is domestic-related, though it was not immediately clear who owns the house in which the shooting occurred.

“The female victim is either married or has been married to the suspect,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said the sheriff’s office has not confirmed rumors that there were other witnesses, including children, on scene.

It was not immediately clear whether the residence or suspect and victims have a history of domestic incidents.

Also not immediately clear was Lofland’s extent of any prior domestic violence or criminal history charges, though he does have a booking photo recorded with the sheriff’s office.
