Authorities say they have exhausted their ground and water search at Lanier Point Park for Lizeth Ruby Ruiz, a Gainesville woman who has been missing since May 18.

“We have completed our investigative search of the area,” Gainesville police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Friday.

Authorities are “focusing our efforts on the investigation (of her disappearance) at this time,” he said.

Police scoured the area Friday, including with K-9 teams, but ended the search with “nothing new to report,” Holbrook said.

Ruiz, 23, was last seen at the park at 1579 Lee Waldrip Drive, which is off Lake Lanier west of Dawsonville Highway.

She had been with friends at the 90-acre park when she got separated from the group, authorities have said.

Others involved in the search include fire departments from Gainesville and Hall County, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Earlier this week, Holbrook said, “The main focus as of right now has turned toward the investigative side, focusing on the investigation into her whereabouts.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
