FORSYTH COUNTY — Forsyth County Sheriff’s investigators are searching for a semi-truck loaded with $100,000 in freight that was reportedly stolen last month from a parking lot on Bethelview Road near Ga. 400.
According to an incident report, the semi vanished sometime overnight June 13 from the lot in front of Ingles, just off Exit 13.
The trailer was refrigerated and full of welding materials valued at $100,000. The vehicle itself was valued at $12,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
As of early July, neither the freight nor the vehicle has been found, according to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the agency.
The driver from Illinois, whose employer was listed as Overline Transport, stated he made sure it hadn’t been towed before reporting it as a theft.
He apparently found the lock he used on the trailer broken and brought it in for possible fingerprints.
