GAINESVILLE — A Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been fired after an investigation into an alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

Corey Alexander, 30, of Braselton was terminated Sunday following an investigation into an “inappropriate relationship with a female on house arrest,” said Nicole Bailes, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.

Alexander is a seven-year employee who supervised people on house arrest for the jail division.

The internal investigation is still under way, Bailes said.

An attempt to reach Alexander for comment was unsuccessful.
