One man was injured around lunchtime Wednesday in what authorities say was an accidental shooting outside a business near downtown Cumming.
Authorities said the 62-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was taken to North Fulton Hospital after he shot himself in the stomach with a .45-caliber handgun.
Cumming Police Chief Scott Burgess said the man was listed in stable condition.
Burgess said the incident reportedly occurred as the man was attempting to load the gun while sitting in a vehicle.
The shooting drew Cumming police, Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies and emergency medical personnel to the parking lot of Forsyth County Pawn at Atlanta Road and Resthaven Drive.
