Authorities say that a Forsyth County man was arrested this week after he was identified by a social media company as an individual that was allegedly downloading child pornography.

Jack Allen Moore, 24, was arrested by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, Nov. 25, and charged with two counts each of distribution of child pornography and sexual exploitation, sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater said on Tuesday.

According to Rainwater, Moore was identified as a suspected child porn offender by a social media company, who then alerted state authorities to what they had found.

“They are policing their own and they are very wary of predators out on the internet,” Rainwater said.

From the information provided by the social media company, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office was then able to carry out their own investigation which, according to Rainwater, yielded enough evidence to secure an arrest warrant for Moore and a search warrant for his residence.

“We executed a search warrant at his apartment and seized his cellphone and desktop,” Rainwater said. “We were able to forensically collect the data he is accused of sharing.”
