SOUTH FORSYTH – Forsyth County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery at the Foothills Community Bank in south Forsyth.

The man, who was recorded in video surveillance footage from the bank on Bethelview Road between Atlanta Highway (Hwy. 9) and Castleberry Road, is described as a black male about 35-40 years of age, about six feet tall and weighing 200-200 pounds, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was wearing stockings on his face, a white construction hat and a neon yellow or green T-shirt and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

A silent alarm triggered at the bank about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23.

A black 2006 Saturn VUE was recovered close to the bank that was thought to have been used to flee the scene, said Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

No one was injured in the incident, Rodriguez said, though the man did escape with an undisclosed amount of money from the bank’s register.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (770) 886-2800.
