WINDER — A suspect is dead following a standoff that began Friday afternoon when Hall County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve a warrant for murder at a Barrow County residence, according to authorities.

One Hall deputy was injured when authorities say the suspect shot at them. No life-threatening injuries were reported.

The suspect barricaded himself in a detached garage at the Melinda Drive home and deputies fired gas rounds at the suspect before the standoff ended.
