Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early
Thursday at an all-night fast food restaurant northwest of Cumming.

No one was injured in the incident, which happened about 1:30 a.m. at
the McDonald's on Bethelview Road near Hwy. 20.

Lt. Col. Gene Moss with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said the
suspect used a handgun in the heist.

"We had a lone gunman come in ... one of the employees was outside in
the playground area and he forced her into the restaurant, where he
robbed the restaurant of an undisclosed amount of cash," Moss said.

He said the man left on foot.

Sheriff's Capt. Paul Taylor described the suspect as a white man, 5
feet 9 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 160 to 180 pounds.

He was wearing all black and some kind of mask, Taylor said.

The eatery is open 24 hours, though Taylor said there were only two
employees inside at the time.
