Local authorities arrested a Forsyth County man this week after they say an investigation found that he allegedly shared sexually explicit photos of children online.

James Charles Goldy Jr., 54, of Cumming was arrested by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on March 11 and charged with distribution of child pornography and sexual exploitation of children, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater.

Rainwater said that prior to Goldy’s arrest they received a tip that he had allegedly uploaded images of “minor children involved in sexually explicit situations” to an image hosting website and from that tip they obtained a search warrant for Goldy’s Forsyth County home.

Through the investigation of Goldy’s electronic devices that followed the search of his residence, Rainwater said that more images of child sexual abuse material were allegedly found.

Goldy has been charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and two felony counts of sexual exploitation of children.

He is being held in the Forsyth County Jail and is not currently eligible for bond.
