NORTHEAST FORSYTH — A 26-year-old Cumming man was killed Sunday when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle near Little Mill Road, authorities said.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Brandon Egli succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital following the 2:45 p.m. crash.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to Hickory Hills Road, a residential street about a mile north of where Little Mill and Browns Bridge roads meet.

Egli’s motorcycle struck a 2000 Chevrolet Impala head on, said Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman with the sheriff’s office.

The ensuing investigation determined that Egli was traveling too fast when he rounded the curve and entered the opposing lane of traffic, where it struck the Impala.

No charges are expected for the driver of the Impala, Rodriguez said, and neither drugs nor alcohol are considered contributing factors.

The collision was the first of two involving motorcycles that the sheriff’s office handled Sunday afternoon, though the driver of the second was taken to the hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

In that collision, a 36-year-old man from Sugar Hill was found to be at fault after he rear-ended a Ford Edge on Buford Highway (Hwy. 20) near Samples Road in east Forsyth.

The Ford had stopped for a yellow light about 3 p.m., Rodriguez said, but the motorcycle could not fully stop in time.
