FORSYTH COUNTY -- No major accidents or fires were reported over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, though deputies arrested a number of individuals on suspicion of driving under the influence, incident reports indicated.
The sheriff’s office did respond to a number of small thefts and shoplifting reports.
Many of the thefts were car and mailbox break-ins, with some of the mailboxes appearing to be pried open with some sort of tool, reports said.
While it was not immediately clear how many accidents deputies responded to, last year saw a higher number than previous years, deputies said at the time.
Forsyth County Fire Department Division Chief Jason Shivers said no large fires were reported.
