Fowler Road will be closed to through traffic for two days beginning Oct. 8.

The closure will allow crews to install triple-cross drains as part of a Fowler-Hwy. 9 intersection project, according to Forsyth County government officials.

The road is slated to reopen to through traffic Oct. 9.

"We certainly appreciate the patience of motorists traveling in this area during the construction period," said John Cunard, the county’s director of engineering.

The project, which is expected to wrap up by the end of October, will also add right- and left-turn lanes on Hwy. 9 and a right-turn lane on Fowler.

Reid & Reid Contractors is handling the project for about $290,000, which is being funded through 1-cent sales tax revenue.
