Those who hate the process of getting their licenses or IDs renewed are in for some good news.
The Georgia Department of Drivers Services has a new option allowing some to renew driver’s licenses and IDs from home.
“To all the customers that have used these alternate services, thank you for doing your part to help improve our customer service,” said DDS Commissioner Spencer R. Moore in a news release.
To qualify, individuals must have submitted required Real ID Homeland Security information to DDS and have a small, gold star in the top right corner of the card, and other requirements.
Nearly 48,000 in Georgia were eligible to renew online in October, though only 17,462 did so.
Drivers who qualify, have expiring licenses and renew online can print a receipt, which is legal to drive with, until a new license arrives.
