No one was hurt when a dump truck carrying construction debris overturned Thursday on Hwy. 20.

The wreck and ensuing cleanup disrupted traffic for about two hours along the well-traveled corridor.

The wreck occurred about 5:30 p.m. on Hwy. 20 at James Burgess Road, not far from the Chattahoochee River in southeast Forsyth.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim House said the load shifted, causing the truck to overturn.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Alpharetta, was not charged in connection with the incident.

According to a sheriff’s report, the driver was on James Burgess Road and attempting to turn left onto Hwy. 20 when the truck toppled over on its passenger side.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Firefighters used absorbent to soak up oil and grease leaking from the truck's engine and transmission, authorities said.
