Early voting for the Nov. 8 referendum begins Monday at the Forsyth County Administration Building.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

The referendum asks voters whether the current 1-cent sales tax should be extended for six years, from 2013-19.

Among the projects the estimated $200 million in sales tax revenue would fund include a new Forsyth County courthouse and emergency water generator, as well as an expansion of the detention center.

Voters will be asked to provide one of six forms of photo ID, including a driver’s license or U.S. passport.

Advance voting, which takes place at five polling locations, begins Oct. 31.
