Do you want to make a big splash in a small pond, while entering to win a $10,000 prize?

Well, with the inaugural Duck Dive event, soon to be hosted by the Forsyth County Education Foundation, you can raise money for a good cause while standing to win some money for yourself.

Funds raised by the Duck Dive will go to support Forsyth County Schools and the work that the education foundation does in the community.

“Since 2016, the Forsyth County Education Foundation has benefited Forsyth County Schools by providing $180,000 in grants for our kids and teachers through support of local businesses,” according to a press release from the school system. “But even with this success, we have not been able to meet all the needs.”

To participate, members of the community can “adopt” a duck for $10 by visiting the Forsyth County School Board of Education building at 1120 Dahlonega Highway in Cumming or by visiting www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/foundation.

Duck “adoptions” are now open, duck numbers will be released online June 10 and the Duck Dive will be held on July 4 at the Cumming Fairgrounds, the release states.

There are 20,000 rubber ducks available for “adoption” into the community. The entire flock will be released into a “massive pond” at the fairgrounds.

“One person ‘dives’ in and selects one lucky duck winner for up to a $10,000 prize,” the release states.

More information will be released closer to the date of the event.
