CUMMING — The North Georgia Community Foundation is accepting applications for the Judge Richard S. "Stan" Gault Education Scholarship.

Applications will be accepted through Sept. 30 and the scholarship will be awarded for spring semester 2015.

The Gault family created the scholarship in 2010 to honor his memory and provide Forsyth County students with the opportunity to pursue their educational goals.

The $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional Forsyth County who is pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Paula Gault, wife of the late Stan Gault, said in a statement that the family wanted to honor him “by promoting educational opportunities for students no matter their stage in life.”

“This is something Stan really believed in and would be excited that the scholarship helps a non-traditional student reach their educational dreams,” she said.

An application, eligibility information and instructions for applying for the scholarship are available on the foundation's Web site, www.ngcf.org/file/scholarship-applications/Application-2014.pdf.
